Telos Theatre Company

Telos Theatre Company is an ambitious new voice in Europe’s cultural theatre landscape. A company born from a desire to develop new undiscovered talent and international collaboration.

Rooted in the work of our in-house acting studio, Telos is a platform for the continuous development of emerging artists. We offer rigorous, ongoing training to support the next generation of theatre-makers as they explore their artistic imaginative resources free from the pressure of the industry, and to begin the process to collaborate as an ensemble, Our approach nurtures actors and actresses who are rigorous, socially conscious and capable of bringing theatre to life in ways that speak directly to the challenges and complexities of the modern world.

Tom and Sara’s vision is to create work that strengthens human interconnection, using the intimate exchange between performer and audience that is at the heart of the theatrical experience. Alongside this, they are building a dynamic network of international collaborators and laying the groundwork for work that is not only artistically bold, but resilient, scalable, and built for long-term sustainable growth.

Telos Theatre Company’s development slate

Under Telos Theatre Company’s development slate, we are exploring bold reimaginings of classic and original texts through an intimate, actor-led lens. Each project strips storytelling back to its most essential elements - language, performance, and psychological tension- while expanding outward into myth, memory, and hallucination. From fractured domestic worlds that evolve into epic legend, to canonical works reimagined as visceral two-handers or cinematic fragments, these pieces interrogate power, identity, and desire at their most raw. This is work in development that seeks not to replicate the familiar, but to uncover what lies beneath it- reshaping known stories into something immediate, dangerous, and newly alive

Currently in Development:

CREDITORS

adapted by Tom McClane & Georgie Dettmer

Telos Theatres first production is a bold new contemporary adaptation of August Strindberg’s play Creditors - a play he considered to be his masterpiece. A 90 min eviscerating drama and psychological thriller; an uncompromising dissection of fractured masculinity, misogyny, and marriage.

In this new contemporary version by Telos Theatre Company, Strindberg's text is adapted for a contemporary audience - preserving Strindberg’s taut structure and blistering dialogue.

GWEN and ARDDWR

written by Huw and Grace Brentnall.

Gwen and Arddwr is a bold two-hander that begins in the intimacy of a 1980s kitchen before expanding into something far more mythic and unsettling. The play charts a young marriage shaped by desire, control, and isolation, where love becomes a volatile game that spirals toward violence and delusion. Blending raw domestic realism with heightened, almost Arthurian language, it interrogates identity, power, and the stories we tell ourselves to survive- building toward a striking fusion of the everyday and the epic.

MACBETH

adapted by Telos Theatre Company

Under Telos Theatre Company’s development slate, this reimagining of Macbeth distils the story into an intimate, psychological two-hander. Stripping away all other characters, Macbeth and Lady Macbeth become both protagonists and storytellers, conjuring the world of the play through shared hallucination and fractured memory. Set within the confines of a bedroom- where their dead child lies in a crib- the piece explores grief as the engine of ambition, reframing the tragedy as a private ritual of loss, guilt, and self-destruction. Visceral, actor-driven, and unsettlingly intimate.
